About Me

Well, hello there! I’m Sara Vaughn, recent creator of Give Me Cake (or give me death.) I am an only child who was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida but have since relocated to Alabama, Georgia, and in late 2013 I took the leap to Belfast, Ireland for a master’s degree and a boy, though truthfully its more the latter than the former. I have since completed my degree, and am now a certified Master of Arts Management, and soon will be relocating to Drogheda, Ireland (outside of Dublin) for at least another year.

I envy fashionable people but I prefer my pajamas to any other clothing, and I am a theatre junkie with a background in accounting. My introverted nature means I can binge watch a Netflix series like there is no tomorrow but I prefer low-key days with close friends. My mother is my best friend, but when we’re around each other we fight like I’m 16 again. I’ll try (mostly) any food once however I just started learning to cook at 25. I don’t like crowds, but love going dancing. I may be a walking contradiction but it’s these things that make me unique!

I started playing around with HTML and creation of websites way back when I was a very nerdy pre-teen.  Now that I’m a very nerdy semi-adult, I’ve decided to pick it up again by way of blogging. GMC will be used and abused as my creative outlet, from crafting and travels to musings on everyday life.

What's in a name? Hopefully by now you've figured out this blog doesn't have much to do with my love of cake. I'm sorry to disappoint you all. For the record, I could eat some form of cake every day for the rest of my life and be happy if it weren't for the workouts that would have to accompany it). However, the name comes from Eddie Izzard's Dress to Kill tour. Watch it below, and while it's all fantastic you may want to skip to 4:48 to get the start of the joke.

*** If anyone finds this page and has questions about the visa processes I’ve encountered or life as an expat feel free to comment or email me if they’re more personal I’d be happy to help as much as I can!
